Our First Leo

 

        In 2002 we were looking for a big, sweet tempered dog to protect our little girls. Little did we know that this new dog would become a beloved member of our family. In January 2002 we welcomed into our home Tanzie, a lovable Leonberger pup. WE could not have asked for a better companion. She was much  more gentle and sweet than we could have imagined. She was often compared to "Nana", the St. Bernard from Peter Pan, because of her motherly demeanor. We found that she was incredibly good with children. We loved her very much and were so sad when, in the summer of 2011, we were informed that she had developed Pancreatic Cancer. The loss of Tanzie was very hard for all of us and we knew it was only a matter of time before we would be looking for another Leonberger to join us.
