Lowenhohle's Darling Gretel Our Liebchen
"Gretel"

IMG_8967_edited.jpg

Gretel is one of the sweetest girls we have had here at Creekside. She has a wonderful, calm temperament, beautiful coloring and comes from a wonderful bloodline. Gretel's health testing was completed in June 2024 and we decided to move forward with the decision to breed this lovely girl. Her first litter was born on December 19th, 2024. Merry Christmas to us! 7 healthy pups, 2 girls and 5 boys.

At this time we are accepting applications for potential puppy placements for Gretel's first litter -- Creekside's "F" Litter. If you are interested in one of our puppies, please scroll to the bottom of this page. There is a link for an online puppy questionnaire which is the first step in the application review process.

Creekside's Charming Christmas Chestnut
"Chessie"

We knew that when Rue had had her third litter, it would be time for her to retire. We decided to keep one of her "C" litter puppies to continue on the legacy of Creekside Leos. She joined our family Christmas of 2019 and has been such a sweetheart to us ever since. We have met and loved many Leonbergers over almost 20 years but Chessie is just about as sweet as they come. She loves all of us, but no one more than Mary Lynn. She is always about three steps behind. We have loved having her as a part of our family and she has done a fabulous job as a mother to her two litters (Litters "D" & "E").

She does well with children, and loves being with the family. as much as possible. She is beautiful with gorgeous coloration and a gentle face. She loved to play and wrestle with her mama, Rue, for the two years that they had together before Rue passed in October of 2021. Luckily that big adjustment period ended swiftly for her when we welcomed a new addition to our Leo family in August of 2022 with Lowenhohle's Darling Gretel Our Liebchen "Gretel".

Starfire Irresistible Tayiarue

"Rue"

After we lost our first Leo, Tanzie, we knew it was only a matter of time before another Leonberger would join our family. That time came in the spring of 2012 when we welcomed Irresistible Tayiarue "Rue" into our home. She was a very active puppy and before long grew into a beautiful and lovable female. We loved having her and her sweet personality.

She was the mother of our first Creekside Leos litter, and the two that followed (Litters "A", "B", & "C"). She was a nurturing and nurturing mother to those pups and was patient with us as we experienced our first foray in Leonberger breeding.

Rue and two of her "A" Litter pups participated in the 2016 LCA National Specialty put on by Gold Rush Leos in Sacramento, CA. Rue placed third in the Novice Bitch class.

Rue was a good tempered dog who loved being outdoors as much as possible. She was very beautiful with gorgeous markings and a gentle face. She loved to play and especially loved running outside in the grass (but most especially through our backyard stream!). She could be extremely silly and playful at times and definitely kept us busy.

Unfortunately in October of 2021 we had to say goodbye to Rue do to age-related causes. She peacefully crossed the rainbow bridge surrounded by her family.

"Tanzie"

In 2002 we were looking for a gentle giant to be a protector for our little girls (who were 2, 5 and 9 at the time). Little did we know that this new dog would become a beloved member of our family. Many in our family (and a few friends) have said that Tanzie was the best dog that they have ever met. She was much more gentle and sweet than we could have imagined. She was often compared to "Nana", the dog nanny from Peter Pan, because of her motherly demeanor and how patient and affectionate she was with children. We loved her very much and our family was devastated when she was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 2011. The loss of Tanzie was very hard for all of us, and we feel so much gratitude for the guardian she was for our girls and for her as an introduction to the incredible Leonberger breed.

*Please note that completing the application does not guarantee that you will have a puppy. We thoroughly screen future homes and place puppies that will match their family best based on a variety of factors such a temperament and the overall goals of the prospective puppy owner. We only review applications when we have a current litter.
